Kenmore’s occupied dwellings are mostly separate houses.

That is the opposite shape to Indooroopilly. A barrier conversation here is usually about a detached house and its perimeter, not about an apartment building. Chapel Hill, Brookfield, Pullenvale and Fig Tree Pocket share postcode 4069 and do not share this table.

From a dairy to a commuter suburb

Brisbane City Council’s heritage entry for Kenmore Park says Andrew Todd established the house and dairy in the early 1880s on land that was then described as Indooroopilly, about 6½ miles from Brisbane. The church he supported was recorded as Kenmore Church, which the entry calls the first wider use of the name. The property was subdivided in 1953 and auctioned as 67 allotments. Council describes that subdivision as the shift from a rural holding to a suburban one, within commuting distance by car.

The homestead entry is about one property, not a survey of every house in Kenmore. It does explain why the suburb’s building stock is not a single 1960s estate and not a cluster of towers. Ask a quoter whether they are pricing a postwar house, an older timber house, or a later rebuild. Those are different barrier problems. This page does not count how many of each exist.

Perimeter habits that matter on a detached house

Because the census profile is detached housing, QBCC’s homeowner list is the practical one: garden beds and mulch over the inspection zone, a 75 mm gap under weep holes, timber stacked on the wall, and fences or carports attached to the house. Those are ways a system that was installed correctly later stops working as an inspection zone. They are not evidence that Kenmore has more termites than another suburb. Kenmore East is a PO Box label on Australia Post’s 4069 result, not a reason to copy this census page onto a post office. Kenmore Hills is a different locality in the same code. If you live there, say so in the job details. The worker only sees 4069.
